One of the comedy highlights of 2012 was Charlie Brooker’s A Touch of Cloth. Brooker’s keenly observed script noticed just how generic all our police procedurals had become and used the structure of BBC One’s dark drama Messiah and essentially giving it Airplane! treatment. The parody is enhanced by the excellent cast lead by police procedural veterans John Hannah as DI Jack Cloth and Suranne Jones as his trusted sidekick DC Anne Oldman.
The seconds part of the Cloth trilogy, subtitled Undercover Cloth, sees Jack once again on the edge and losing his identity as he infiltrates a gang.
A Touch of Cloth 2: Undercover Cloth begins on Sky One on Monday 19 August at 2200
