The X-Files return in early 2018 with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning to reprise their roles for another 10 episodes. This follows the commercially if not critically successful return in 2016 which saw the FBI’s paranormal investigators back on TV after a 14 year gap. Those six episodes had to jump through hoops to try and reset the series status quo and then ended on a slightly ridiculous end of the world cliffhanger with Mulder about to die of the terrible disease designed to pave the way for the alien invasion, which may or may not an alien invasion anymore. It’s a conspiracy. This season will deal with Mulder and Scully’s lost son William who may or may not hold the key to something or other.
Also returning, in an expanded role is Mitch Pileggi as Deputy Director Skinner, William B Davis as the Cigarette Smoking Man, Annabeth Gish as Monica Reyes, and wait was that apparently dead Lone gunman Langly (Dean Haglund). The young Mulder and Scully characters Miller and Einstein (Lauren Ambrose and Robbie Amell) will also be back.
The X-Files returns to our screens in early 2018.
