The BFG: New trailer for Speilberg’s Roald Dahl adaptation

Here’s the latest trailer for the Disney produced, Spielberg directed adaptation of The BFG. That should all be a pretty powerful combination with Disney’s magic, Spielberg’s heart and Dahl’s…courage? No, wrong story…Dahl’s twisted imagination. Hopefully it won’t have the author’s spikier edges removed, but then again, in the modern age a story about an old man kidnapping an orphan seems less magical.

The BFG is the tale of lonely orphan Sophie (Ruby Barnhill) who finds a kindred spirit in a dream weaving Big Friendly Giant (Academy Award winner Mark Rylance). They embark on a series of adventures that take them to Giant Country and Dream Country as they try to defeat the other child eating giants.

Also in the cast are Rebecca Hall, Jermaine Clement, Bill Hader and Penelope Wilton as the Queen.

The BFG arrives in cinemas on 22 July 2016
