It’s the moment that you’ve all been waiting for, the first trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The film reportedly picks up right where The Force Awakens left off, with Rey standing holding out Luke’s lightsaber, beckoning him to become a Jedi once again. Turns out Luke isn’t massively keen on the idea and wants the Jedi to end. He’s probably going to mope around in a cave for a while. However, there has been a precedent set for an old Jedi who didn’t want to train a new apprentice. Could Luke be visited by a Force ghost from his past? Most likely it would be Yoda because he’s easier to reproduce than Alec Guinness.
Rian Johnson is in the director’s chair with a returning cast including Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscaar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi arrives in theatres 15 December 2017
