Sam Mendes returns for a second outing as Bond director following Skyfall, the first film in the long-running franchise to make $1 billion. While SPECTRE appears to have a wider scope with more locations and deeper intrigue it would seem it’s following the previous film’s pattern by exploring a story connected to Bond himself, rather than just sending 007 on another mission. Whether that provides the audience with added investment or just makes it look like he would never last as a spy because he spends the whole time going rogue, is another matter. It will most likely be a massive hit when released no matter what. Still at least no one is talking about Blofeld.
Returning cast members include Daniel Craig as James Bond, Ralph Fiennes as M, Ben Whishaw as Q, and Naomie Harris as Moneypenny alongside newcomers Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci and Dave Bautista.
SPECTRE arrives in UK cinemas on 26 October 2015
