Production begins on Marvel’s Infinity War

“Before creation itself, there were six singularities…forged into infinity stones.” – The Collector

Production has officially begun on Avengers: Infinity War and Marvel have released this video to mark the occasion. There’s something cool about seeing Star-Lord, Iron Man and Spider-Man all hanging out together on set, and there will probably be a whole lot more of that to come. There’s the confirmation (to the masses at least) that the Guardians of the Galaxy will team up with the Avengers (as if that was ever in doubt) and also that production is going to last around a year and produce two movies – the latter of which remains untitled.

For some reason the creative team of producer Kevin Feige, writers  Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, and directors Anthony Russo & Joe Russo were shot in black and white, possibly to make them look moody and important. They also use the word “culmination” a lot and that seems pretty fitting. This is the end for the work that’s been done since Iron Man back in 2008 and you’d suspect that it’ll probably be the end of the line for some of the first generation Avengers. The Infinity Stones possibly haven’t been the most subtly set up plot devices but it sure has been exciting watching it play out and it sounds like the creative team are attempting to top everything they’ve done so far.  You also get  a sneak peak at some more production art for Thanos and if you watch the video over and over, you’ll probably find some more glorious details.

Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Zoe Saldana, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Rudd. Brie Larson, Chadwick Boseman and Josh Brolin are set to star along with virtually everyone else who has ever been in one of these.

Avengers: Infinity War arrives in theatres 27 April 2018 but before that you’ll have plenty of set up in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, Spider-Man Homecoming, Thor Ragnarok and Black Panther.
