Hey, didn’t we just have this film? While Olympus Has Fallen might have had the same high concept set-up – essentially Die Hard in the White House, this appears to be the classier of the two. Channing Tatum is of course wins the everyman fight with Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx is forever excellent. The director is Roland Emmerich, director of some of the most forgettable movies of our time including Independence Day and The Day after Tomorrow. I guess the dude just really loves destroying American icons.
White House Down is released on 28 June 2013 in the US and 18 September 2013 in the UK
