Although this is the second Netflix series on Marvel following Daredevil, Jessica Jones – based on the comic book Alias by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Michael Gaydos – has been in development since 2010 and appears to have been the show the comic book giant has wanted to bring to the small screen from the start. Then titled aka Jessica Jones, the show was passed over by various networks in 2012 but has since been revived when Marvel signed a deal with Netflix to produce four character based series before they all crossover in The Defenders. Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg has been involved in the project from the beginning and will serve as writer and showrunner. The titles, presumably reflected in this trailer and logo will feature artwork by the comic book’s cover artist David W. Mack.
Krysten Ritter leads the cast as Jessica Jones, superhero turned private investigator alongside Mike Colter as Luke Cage, David Tennant as Kilgrave and Carrie Anne Moss as Harper.
All episodes of Jessica Jones will be made available on Netflix on 20 November 2015
