Mr Peabody and Sherman in CGI form? Sure, it’s not like they’re fondly remembered characters. The Smurfs? Fine if you must resurrect the Smurfs go for it. The Chipmunks? You know that makes sense. But Peanuts? The look was always so intrinsically like a comic strip. Well now Charles M. Schulz’s creations are coming in 3-D.
The look is highly stylised, almost like looking at the cartoon is some freaky version of HD but it’s still somewhat odd looking. Even if the animation style is new, there are plenty of signs that it’s a faithful adaptation with Snoopy sounding just as he should and the use of the music from A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Peanuts is set to be released in late 2015
