Aquaman has changed. He used to be a blonde, with an orange and green outfit and have lots of exciting adventures with the fish. Now he’s more like…sea Thor and appearing in Zack Snyder’s Justice League dark palate. Jason Momoa stars as the King of Atlantis and will make his first appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before playing a more significant part in the Justice League movies and presumably his own spin-off. Jason Momoa is familiar with water having lived most of his life on planet Earth. He also spent a significant amount of time on the rather wet Stargate Atlantis and the more than moist Baywatch. More recently he’s done that moody bearded man thing on Game of Thrones.
The most recent non-comics portrayal of Aquaman was on a few episodes of Smallville where he was played by Alan Ritchson as part of the Justice League. That incarnation of the League was lead by Green Arrow who was played by Justin Hartley who played Aquaman in a never picked-up (but actually pretty decent) pilot named Mercy Reef from the same production team. It also starred Adrianne Palicki as Siren, but thankfully she’s managed to avoid comic-book TV shows throughout her career.
