From Anchorman to Author…man

Not many Will Ferrell movies have the staying power of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. When was the last time you popped in Semi-Pro, Blades of Glory or even Talledega Nights? Many of these movies capitalize on the Awkward Bravado Character that Ferrell has built his successful career upon, but none of them are as memorable as Ron Burgundy. The deafening call for a sequel to the original Anchorman has been finally answered when Anchorman 2:The Legend Continues comes out on December 20th.

Fans of Anchorman can get their fix a month earlier though, when Crown Archetype will publish Ron Burgundy’s “autobiography” LET ME OFF AT THE TOP!: My Classy Life and Other Musings. It will be dropped in the US, UK, Canada and Australia in print and digital on November 19. It will tell the story of his childhood and why he decided to become an anchorman. He will be giving personal details on the women in his life, his dog, Baxter and San Diego’s Action 4 News Team.

“I don’t know if it’s the greatest autobiography ever written. I’m too close to the work,” Burgundy said, adding, “I will tell you this much: the first time I sat down and read this thing . . . I cried like a goddamn baby, and you can take that to the bank!”

The biggest question now is: will this book be leather-bound?
