FINAL TRAILER FOR PACIFIC RIM
The ‘Monsters vs Robots’ concept of Pacific Rim appears to be one of those dumb ideas that Hollywood blockbusters turn into money. There’s nothing wrong with dumb ideas and when executed in the right way they can be highly entertaining. It just seems that with these genre mash-ups that it’s become an extremely cynical way of cashing in on genre fan bases. That said, any new film from Guillermo del Toro is exciting and it’s just possible that he might be able to imbue potential schlock with an art house edge, or at the very least make it fun schlock with a little heart.
