Doctor Who returns to BBC One and BBC America this autumn with a new Doctor, new companions, a new logo and even a new showrunner. Jodie Whittaker takes on the title role and is joined by a TARDIS team of three Graham (Bradley Walsh) Yaz (Mandip Gill) and Ryan (Tosin Cole). The trailer was unveiled at San Diego Comic Con during the panel before being released to the public online.
Head writer Chris Chibnall, best known for his work on Broadchurch, has revealed there will be 10 episodes plus a Christmas special. And given the show won’t start until October, it’s probably going to just turn into a run of 11 episodes.
In other new stuff, Segun Akinola will be composing, taking over from Murray Gold who has scored the past 10 series which means we’ll get an exciting new theme tune as well.
Earlier in the week, the below teaser trailer was especially shot and shows the companions doing things while some time shenanigans take place. So that’s nice.
