Here’s the latest trailer for Doctor Who series 10, Peter Capaldi’s last turn as the Time Lord and Steven Moffat’s last as head writer. This time, the Doctor is back with an all new Tardis team led by Pearl Mackie as Bill and Matt Lucas as Nardole.
It’s nice to see a trailer that’s been specifically filmed rather than the usual montage of clips. This year signals something of a reboot for the series, with the new companion acting as the lead character dragged into the new world of the Doctor – a device used to great effect with Rose. It’s perhaps an odd move given that next year, there will be an all new Doctor, new showrunner in the shape of Torchwood’s Chris Chibnall and presumbaly new sets and a new companion. However, it will be good to see how the 12th Doctor plays against someone other than Clara, whose departure dragged on far too long.
Let’s hope this new run allows Peter Capaldi go out on a high note.
Doctor Who series 10 begins on BBC One on 15 April 2017.
