CLASSIC TRAILER TUESDAY: TWIN PEAKS FIRE WALK WITH ME
The last days of Laura Palmer were explored in the Twin Peaks sequel/prequel. It was a troubled production mainly due to the lack of participation from the stars of TV show after they felt pretty abandoned following Lynch/Frost’s lack of participation in the second season.
The use of Angelo Badalamenti’s theme takes you right back into the town of Twin Peaks and the scenes of the very much alive Laura Palmer. The film is about a looming darkness and you get a pretty good sense of that. The lack of light to contrast the darkness sets it apart from the television incarnation.
This was planned to be the first part of a Twin Peaks trilogy. Sadly poor box office and critical reception meant that would never happen. Perhaps one day, Lynch might take us on a journey to Twin Peaks again.
