Everyone’s favourite Avenger’s star, Jeremy Renner, has taken to Twitter to share some early concept art for the forthcoming Captain America: Civil War. That’s exciting because it gives us the first look at how the superheroes will be lining up against each other following a schism in the team with two factions lining up behind Iron Man and Captain America.
Joining Stark’s team are Black Widow, War Machine, Vision and Black Panther. They’ll be taking on Falcon, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, The Winter Soldier and er…Sharon Carter. While that looks like a home win to team Iron Man, this is a Captain America movie, so it just wouldn’t be right for him to have the odds in his favour.
There’s also a chance to see Hawkeye’s lovely new outfit in closeup . It’s quite purple which is the perfect colour for any assassin.
As this is early artwork, there’s no Wanda Maximoff, who could prove to be a key player in whatever side she chooses. There’s also no Spider-Man but it’s likely that Marvel will be keeping his look under wraps until the last possible moment.
There will probably be a whole host of other superheroes to be revealed closer to the time, but for now this film is a pretty dramatic way to complete the Captain America trilogy, and should nicely fill the Avengers gap until Infinity War Part I hits screens in the summer of 2018.
Anthony and Joe Russo return to direct their second Captain America film with a script from franchise mainstays Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Civil War arrives in cinemas 29 April 2016.
